My Why!

I write to make meaning out of the mess.

Most of what I create begins the same way: as a question I don’t know how to answer, a feeling I can’t quite explain, or a truth I’m still trying to understand.

A song.
A story.
A poem.
A fragment scribbled in the dark.

For years, writing became the place where I put the things I couldn’t carry anymore. The grief. The anger. The confusion. The hope. Not to escape them, but to understand them.

Because creating has always been how I find my way through.

This work was born in the space between who I was told to be and who I actually am. In the moments I made myself smaller to fit places I was never meant to fit. In the years spent carrying stories about myself that were never mine to begin with.

In the silence after being dismissed. In the ache of loving people who couldn't hold what I gave them. It comes from the fractures — and from loving people who treated that love like something disposable.

Eventually, I stopped trying to become who everyone else needed me to be.

And I started creating what I wished had existed when I needed it most.

A light.

A lantern.

A refuge.

A reminder that being sensitive is not weakness. That surviving is not failure. That you don’t have to earn your right to take up space.

So I built a place instead.

A quiet corner for tired hearts.

For the dreamers, the seekers, the weird ones, the soft ones, the wounded ones, and the still-standing.

You don’t have to perform your healing to belong here.

You don’t have to have it all figured out.

You just have to arrive.

Welcome to Grey Street.
